Karen Long, FNP-C, CDE
Certified Family Nurse Practitioner
Karen Long is a Board Certified Family Nurse Practitioner as well as a Certified Diabetes Educator. She obtained her Master of Science in Nursing from University of Kentucky in 1984. Since graduating, Ms. Long has worked in multiple healthcare settings with varied physician specialists to enhance her skills and knowledge even further.
Ms. Long joined CHI St. Luke's Health Brazosport to provide care to patients at the Urgent Care Center, where urgent non life-threatening medical conditions are treated. Additionally, she is helping diabetic patients manage their diabetes better by seeing diabetic patients at the Family Medicine Center in Lake Jackson and in Brazoria.
Prior to joining CHI St. Luke's Health Brazosport, Ms. Long worked at a family practice clinic in Minnesota serving a Native American Community. She also worked in occupational health, clinical research and in specialty clinics for gastrointestinal and kidney diseases.
With over 30 years of experience, Ms. Long brings her expertise and her personal commitment to our patients. She believes patients should be actively involved in making choices about their own health and recognizes the importance of family members.
